Born in Madison, Indiana Mark has been a working artist for as long as he can remember. He studied painting and illustration at Indiana University and The Herron School of Art. Since being in his first show when he was 7 years old, Mark has continued to be a part of solo and group exhibitions across the US.
Always attracted to different genres of art and mediums, Mark has returned to his love of impressionism with his new series of paintings. Working in acrylics and oils Mark applies multiple layers of color and texture with only palette knives. This impasto technique allows Mark to achieve rich layers and a three dimensional quality that mimics nature.
Drawn in by the power and beauty of nature, Mark finds a vast array of inspiration for his work. By using the endless colors and textures in the world around him, Mark creates paintings that provoke emotion and create a sense of wonder. Mark's work has been widely collected and is a part of private and corporate collections in the US and Europe. He lives and works in Nashville, Indiana.
